German act Vanilla Rex is an interesting act on their homeland scene. Their
carreare lasted practically from the
late 80's, and till now they recorded few Demos, and also in 2000. a full-length, titled "Genius Diary".
During exsistence few times line-up changed, and it's true to say, that mentioned situation, amortized carreare followings.
Also relations with few recorde labels, didn' t create a positive score for them, and band mostly all things made by ourselves.
During the first part of carreare, band sounded nearer to power metal and N.W.O.B.H.M.and nowadays, we could
threat their aproach as a variant of progressive metal.
"Shadows Of Insanity" suppose to be introduction, before realization of forthcoming full-length. And that would be in 2005.
This is an EP with 3 longest themes lasted about 28 minutes. Important part of their arrangments work, lay in
keybords threathenings, and we could find similiarities with Dream Theater
works. Singer Andy Wagener is excelent
performer, and generally band created a respectable material. Only minor
problem lay in unluck final producing mix,
and in some way that detail minimize showed highest standards.Anyway, band deserves respect for their EP material,
but unfortunatelly and oftenlly, that isn' t garant for certain future.
